Taking Care of You



Often called the “Hawaii of Europe,” Madeira is a destination that captivates travelers with its stunning landscapes, year-round warmth, and vibrant culture. Since November 2022, we’ve been welcoming guests who return time and again to soak in the island’s beauty and the transformative experiences our retreat offers. Built on the foundation of our 15-year programme in Devon, our island retreat blends seamlessly with Madeira’s unique energy. With winter temperatures rarely dipping below 16°C, even at night, and plenty of sunshine-filled days, it’s the perfect place to restore and recharge—no matter the season.
Our immersive five-day programme runs from Tuesday to Saturday, with arrivals on Monday. Each retreat is designed to reconnect you with nature, movement, and inner balance through a variety of activities, such as yoga for all levels, breathtaking coastal hikes, meditation, cold water immersion, breathwork, functional fitness sessions, wild swimming, natural pools, and indulgent massages. And, of course, a few of our signature “surprise” sessions to keep things exciting!
This is a fully inclusive experience—once you arrive, everything is taken care of so you can fully unwind and focus on yourself. At Yeotown Madeira, each day unfolds with a thoughtfully curated blend of movement, mindfulness, and relaxation, designed to enhance your overall well-being. You might start with an energizing stretch session, preparing your body for a scenic hike through Madeira’s dramatic coastline, lush forests, or rolling valleys. Along the way, you may experience the invigorating benefits of cold water immersion in natural pools or wild swimming in the island’s pristine waters.
Balancing activity with restoration, our programme also incorporates breathwork, meditation, and forest bathing to calm the mind and reset the nervous system. Strength and functional fitness sessions help build resilience, while expert-led massages provide deep relaxation and recovery. In between, there’s space to simply be—whether that’s reading in the lounge by the yoga studio fireplace, relaxing on the outdoor sofas, walking in the garden, or soaking in the island’s natural beauty by the pool.

Unlike traditional fitness bootcamps, weight loss retreats, wellness retreats, or juice fasts, Yeotown Madeira takes a balanced, sustainable approach to health and well-being. Rather than extreme diets or short-term fixes, we focus on nourishing the body with wholesome, nutrient-rich foods that support long-term vitality.
Our menus are deeply inspired by the land, featuring fresh, organic produce grown right in our island retreat’s gardens. Taking full advantage of Madeira’s subtropical climate, we incorporate an ever-changing selection of vibrant fruits and vegetables unique to this region. This allows us to create a refreshing mix of nutrient-packed juices, smoothies, refined sugar-free desserts, and a delicious, plant-centric menu with a few sustainable fish options. While our cuisine is not entirely plant-based, it can easily be adapted for those who prefer it.
We also recognize that nutrition is personal—what works for one person may not work for another. That’s why, unlike many fitness bootcamps or weight loss retreats, we offer one-on-one nutritional consultations for those who wish to develop a personalized approach to eating well beyond their time with us.
